A Dream That’s Been Waiting
I’ve always had more ideas than hours in the day. Some turn into full-blown projects, while others just sit in a notebook, waiting for the right time.
This blog was one of those ideas. For years, I’ve carried it around in my head, scribbled thoughts on scraps of paper, and imagined a little corner of the internet where it could all come together. Well, here we are — finally pulling the trigger.
Who I Am
I’m Jess Butler — creative thinker, boy mom, homeschooler, and lover of a good before-and-after project.
Lately, I’ve felt a shift happening. At 41, I’m learning to re-focus and re-calibrate my energy toward what matters most — my faith, my family, and taking care of myself. I’ve also realized I can’t do everything for everybody — and that’s okay. Instead, I’m pouring my best energy into the people and projects that truly matter.
Around here, we homestead and we DIY. That means there’s usually something growing, something cooking, or something being built. Life is busy, sometimes messy, but it’s full of purpose — and that’s what keeps me going.

This blog is my personal spot to share life, but it’s also tied to Butler Collective LLC — our family-built brand rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and purpose.
We’re makers, storytellers, problem-solvers, and doers. That might look like a custom knife forged in the shop, a website built from scratch, a themed event pulled off just right, or a garden bursting with homegrown goodness. No matter what we’re working on, it always starts with a love for meaningful work.
